Now Playing Overlay for OBS: Show Your Song on Stream

Want your viewers to see the song you're playing? PlayPresence gives you a live now playing overlay for OBS that updates the moment the track changes. It reads the music on your Android phone, so it works with Spotify, YouTube Music, YouTube, SoundCloud and local players.

No Spotify developer app, no client ID, no desktop program to keep running. You paste one link into OBS.

How to add the overlay to OBS

  1. Install PlayPresence from Google Play and pick a username.
  2. Choose which music apps to share (Spotify is on by default) and press play.
  3. Open your page at presence.bridgeapi.top/@yourname, open For streamers & developers and copy the OBS browser source link. It ends in ?overlay.
  4. In OBS, click + under Sources, choose Browser, paste the link and set the size to about 560 × 210.

The background is transparent, and the card fades out by itself when nothing is playing, so you can leave it on every scene.

Works with Streamlabs and Twitch Studio too

Any streaming app with a browser source can show the overlay: Streamlabs Desktop, Twitch Studio and OBS forks all work with the same link.

Questions

Do I need Spotify Premium?

No. PlayPresence reads the media controls Android already shows, so it doesn't use the Spotify API at all.

Can I style the overlay?

The built-in overlay is a clean dark card with the cover, title, artist and a live progress bar. For a fully custom design, build your own with the JavaScript SDK or WebSocket API.

Free on Google Play. Get PlayPresence and share your first song in a minute.
