Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and bridgeapi.top ("we", "us") for the use of the PlayPresence Android app, relay server, public profiles, widget, SDK and API (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. The Service
PlayPresence shares the media playing on your Android device as a public, real-time "now playing" status. The Service does not stream, record or host audio.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use the Service.
- You sign in with a Google account and are responsible for activity on your PlayPresence account and devices. Keep your devices and security PIN safe.
- Usernames are first-come, first-served. We may reclaim or change a username that impersonates others, infringes rights, is offensive or misleading, or has been inactive for a long time.
3. Public by design
Your username, display name, profile photo, device names and current playback status are visible to anyone who knows your username or share ID. Only broadcast what you are comfortable sharing publicly. You can pause broadcasting at any time.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- publish data about another person without their permission, or impersonate anyone;
- send false, harmful or illegal content through track metadata or usernames;
- try to get around rate limits, authentication or security, or access accounts that are not yours;
- overload, disrupt or reverse engineer the Service beyond what the law allows;
- use the Service to harass, track or surveil people.
5. Developers: API, SDK and widget
You may use the public API, SDK and widget to show live presence in your own websites and apps, within fair-use limits. Do not cache or republish users' playback data in a way they did not choose, and respect users' deletion of their accounts. If you store history in your own database, you are responsible for that data and for having a lawful basis to keep it. We may change or rate-limit the API, and may revoke access that abuses the Service.
6. Third-party apps and content
Track titles, artwork and app names belong to their respective owners. PlayPresence is not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify, Google, YouTube, Apple, Discord, OBS or any other music or streaming service mentioned in the app.
7. Availability
The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time.
8. Service shutdown and loss of data
- We may suspend, shut down or permanently discontinue the servers, the app or the whole Service at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.
- The Service may also stop working because of outages, server failures, hosting problems or events outside our control.
- If the Service is shut down or data is lost, your account, username, devices, settings and any related data may be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. We do not promise to keep backups, to restore data, or to let you export data before a shutdown.
- Where reasonably possible we will try to give notice in the app or on this website, but we are not required to.
- You use the Service at your own risk. Do not rely on it as the only place you keep anything important. If you need a record of your listening activity, save it yourself, for example with the SDK in your own database.
- Because the Service is free, you are not entitled to any refund, compensation or replacement service if it is shut down or your data is lost, except where the law requires otherwise.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, accounts, usernames or profits, arising from your use of the Service, its interruption, or its shutdown. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms or put the Service or other people at risk.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and change the effective date. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where bridgeapi.top is established, except where the consumer protection laws of your country of residence require otherwise.
